I’m sure most of you (or some of you, or the one of you that read this?) have seen the trailer to Avatar. Not the Avatar which I will not be seeing (Avatar: The Last Airbender), but just plain old Avatar. It’s a James Cameron film, and to me it’s got “Native American Allegory” all over it. So obviously I have to see it. Now, so do you. ^_^

I’ve pretty much gotten my job under control, except for the whole handling the queue thing. Some days it’s just fine, and on other days it just puts the beat down on me. I really much prefer doing tickets to working the queue. Hopefully that aspect improves in the next few months.

Another random tidbit of information, everyone and their mother (but not Grant) either e-mailed me or sent me a text with “Happy Thanksgiving!” It’s like my family and friends don’t even know me lol. I don’t celebrate holidays that hold in high esteem the subsequent killing of Native Americans, I am Native American. Criminy. Anyhow, I got an awesome card from Grant hehe and it made me happy. 1. Grant says:

Does Avatar’s Native American allegory include subjugating a race of people and taking their land and food and making them depressed alcoholics? I’ll see it if it does. Otherwise, I’ll stick with Japanese horror. It has bunny.

Yah…probably not so much. I imagine this is more along the lines of…before the Native Americans got to the subjugation point. Like, while they were still capable of mounting an offensive. But, then again who knows. =-/

What Japanese horror have you seen recently? I need to catch some of that.

  3. Grant says:

Actually no recent J-horror (but I did watch the K-horror revenge trilogy consisting of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, and Lady Vengeance), but I just started a new anime called Elfin Lied. It’s like Chobits, Ichi the Killer, and Grave of the Fireflies rolled into one, with the addition of much boobage.
